Philip CoxExpertise: Remedial Massage, Soft and Deep Tissue Philip is a Diploma qualified Remedial Massage Therapist. He studied in Sydney, Australia, where he lived for 5 years before returning to the UK in 2007. He is a naturally intuitive therapist, who combines different massage styles, deeper and more relaxing pressure as well as stretching to bring about the best results. Prior to massage therapy he worked as a project manager, primarily saving his money to travel. Starting with a six-month trip to Africa followed by six months in Nepal and India. He travelled through Russia, Mongolia and China on the Trans Siberian railway and extensively through SE Asia before arriving in Darwin and embarking on a road trip to Sydney via Perth. Getting massages along the way became somewhat of a hobby! After receiving a massage from a blind lady in Cambodia, he realised how incredibly powerful massage can be. Finally settling on the Northern beaches in Sydney, he embarked on a one-year full time Remedial Massage course. He studied Swedish, remedial, sports, trigger point, deep tissue, myofascial release, lymphatic drainage, Chinese tui na, intuitive bodywork, as well as detailed anatomy and physiology. Massage has so many great health benefits. It helps relieve stress and tension related headaches; it improves blood circulation and reduces blood pressure. It helps improve posture, provides greater joint flexibility and range of motion and helps to strengthen the immune system. On a simple level massage is a great way to relax, unwind and rejuvenate.
