What exactly is Hypnosis?

You probably recall the sensation of daydreaming .... or the wonderful feeling of your body and mind drifting off towards a sleeping state.... well, this is similar to the state of hypnosis.

Hypnotherapy is a well-recognised healing state of mind, orginating from the Greek word 'sleep'. With eyes closed, clients experience a relaxed and safe way to identify and develop meaningful alternatives to their present unsatisfactory ways of thinking, feeling or behaving, through a trance-like state.

Hypnotherapy enlists the power of the client’s own imagination and may utilise a wide range of techniques from story telling, metaphor or symbolism (judged to be meaningful to the individual client) to the use of direct suggestions for beneficial change.

It is a safe and calm method that encourages transformation of the mind and behaviour.

Of course, the best way to verify these effects is to experience them personally!

Retreat Weekend Schedule

Friday 22nd October to Sunday 24th October 2010

You can come up anytime Friday afternoon (from 3pm ... first optional session starts at 5.30pm) until Sunday afternoon 2.30pm or so.

During the weekend, you will enjoy numerous and varied sessions that are based around hypnotherapy, CBT, NLP, EFT and a few intensive exercise sessions including jogging and fast walking in the delightful countryside.

You will be asked to bring along a healthy dose of curiosity, the willingness to follow the technique's instructions and a desire to welcome change.

Friday

3pm – Arrival 3pm onwards. Relax, get comfortable, use spa/sauna if you wish
5.30pm - Welcome and NLP well-formed outcomes
6.00pm – Nutrition Part 1, What is Hypnosis & the surprising fun of Eating like a Gourmet for weight loss. Weight Loss Hypnosis (Part 1)
7.30pm – Dinner (healthy, home-cooked vegetarian or juice detox if preferred)
8.30pm – Nutrition Part 2. Weight Loss Hypnosis group session (Part 2: Being able to deal with change, welcoming expected & unexpected changes, staying the same versus changing and more)
9.00pm - Relaxation Yoga – preparing body, preparing mind for change / Meditation
9.30pm – Journal time & rest

Saturday

7.30am - Wake up, Spa/Sauna, relaxation time
7.45am – Jogging/fast walking in the beautiful Moors plus QiGong (in the magnificent outdoors, weather permitting or inside)
8.45am – Juicing Workshop & Breakfast
9.45am – Learn how to use EFT (emotional freedom technique) to deal with cravings
10.45am – Weight Loss Hypnosis group session (Part 3)
11.30am – Personal NLP/EFT Session or: walking, spa / sauna, or pre-booked full body / aromatherapy Massage treatment (treatments are pre-booked on the Friday night)
1.30pm – Lunch
2.30pm - Personal NLP/EFT Session or: walking, spa / sauna, or your pre-booked full body / aromatherapy Massage treatment
5pm - Weight Loss Hypnosis group session (Part 4:Food Choices) and discussion – Strengthening Choice vs Habit – we’ll be continuing to change ATTITUDES to food.
6.30pm – Home-cooked, healthy vegetarian Dinner
7.30pm – Life-Alignment Session (aligning your core values, beliefs, desires and goals for 2010-2011)
9.30pm – Journal time & rest

Sunday

7.30am - Wake up, Spa/Sauna, relaxation time
7.45am – Jogging/fast walking in the beautiful Moors plus Yoga stretches (outdoors, weather permitting)
8.45am - Breakfast
10am – Weight Loss Hypnosis group session (Part 5)
10.45am – QiGong Exercises that Increase Vitality
11.15am – Rest break
11.45am Learning Self- Hypnosis: The 7-Step Self-Hypnosis Process
1pm – Lunch
2pm – Completion, Results and moving forward your brighter, lighter Future. Supported by your “Weight Loss Hypnosis Workbook”.

Get set for a fabulously fun and effective Weight Loss Hypnosis Retreat!

Beautiful Location

Our retreat location for October's Weight Loss Hypnosis Retreat is an eight bedroom guesthouse just outside the peaceful village of Rosedale Abbey, in the heart of the North York Moors National Park. It's gorgeous scenery and magnificent walks make it one of the most comfortable, intimate and serene retreat locations we have come across.

Your Room with a View

Every room has a fantastic view across either side of the beautiful Rosedale valley. The bedrooms have been designed to be relaxing and comfortable - a home from home – and has been fully refurbished since Graham and Sue (the owners) bought it! They really have put a lot of effort in, to make this beautiful retreat location a comfortable environment for a healthy, calm retreat space.

Prices are based on sharing. Should you require or prefer a non-sharing room, there is a supplement of £100 for the weekend.

Each of the eight bedrooms (six twin, one double or single and a triple) has been decorated with peaceful, gentle pastel shades to make you feel even more relaxed and comfortable. Most of the rooms are ensuite, or you’ll have your own private bathroom just across the hall.

Open house

The living room is all comfy sofas and cushions with a big open fireplace and lots of interesting magazines and books to read.

The dining room, a lovely double windowed room with views out onto the valley, has a long dining table where everyone can sit and enjoy meals together, candle–lit in the evening.

Plus, of course, there’s the relaxation studio, sauna and treatment rooms, all for you to use while you’re here.

What to wear

The more relaxed, the better for this retreat .... jeans, tracksuit, in fact anything you feel warm, relaxed and comfy for seating, hypnosis sessions, self-relflection, walking and of course using the spa and sauna. Meals are also informal and restful.

Meals

There is a healthy, balanced vegetarian meal provided. No alcohol for the weight loss retreat, as it's an opportunity to transform some of your relationship with food and drink items that have perhaps been holding you back from feeling and looking amazing and full of vitality.

Snacks, tea, water and juice are all provided. You can also take part in a few healthy juicing sessions so you can try out lots of fruit & vegetable combinations! An excellent way to kick-start a detox over the weekend, if you want too. Meals provided however, as this retreat is about managing real life food relationships, better than ever.

Indulging Hot Tub/Spa (FREE)

The Hot Tub or Spa combines ergonomic design with the buoyancy of warm water to give you a feeling of weightlessness. It supports your arms as well as giving tired legs a place to stretch. Each seat offers a different combination of jets, as well as the option of changing the air/water ratio.

The hot tub is basically outside, being covered by a cedar gazebo. It has slide back windows which allow you to feel like you are truly outside. It's the perfect place to watch the sun set over the moors or simply take in the stunning views.

So don't forget to bring your swimming costume, flip flops and a dressing gown!

 

Relax in the Sauna (FREE)

There is a wonderful sauna that you can use during your stay. Whether you've been walking on the moors or just relaxing in the afternoon, it's a great way to revitalise mind and body and steam those aches away!

There's a refreshing shower room for before and after, stacks of fluffy towels and a selection of aromatherapy oils, such as eucalyptus.

The October Weight Loss Hypnosis Retreat is being held at The Orange Tree, a delightful venue located in an area of "outstanding natural beauty" of the North York Moors National Park.

By train the closest station is Malton (change at York) and a short taxi ride to Rosedale East, Pickering.

Retreat Leaders

Stephanie Caiger-Watson

Stephanie is a certified Hypnotherapist and NLP Practitioner with training in aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT).

Stephanie’s approach begins by seeing everyone as a whole person, defining someone by their qualities not the problem they currently experience. She is passionate about helping people to discover their own power, inner wisdom and strengths. Creating a safe space for clients to reclaim personal choice, take charge of their life and release the blocks and barriers to their full potential.

Change can happen quickly; Stephanie’s commitment to her clients is to take them from where they currently are, to where they want to be in a shorter timeframe than would ordinarily be achieved on their own.

Stephanie’s professional career spans through Performing Arts to Event Management and running her own business. Specialist areas: Confidence, Weight Management and Anxiety.

Alexis Garnaut-Miller

Alexis is certified Master NLP Practitioner & Hypnotherapist, certified coach with Results Coaching Systems and qualified Facilitator and Trainer. She is passionate about helping individuals and groups to respect their uniqueness, work to strengths, exceed their own expectations and uncover self-leadership to create their best personal and professional life.

NLP, Coaching and Hypnotherapy are simple and effective tools for helping you achieve change. Alexis' approach is to understand your values, beliefs, challenges and aspirations. And then to use those insights as a basis for facilitating simple and sustainable changes of attitudes, emotions and behaviours at both the unconsious and conscious levels.

Alexis has been a therapist for many years, mentors and trains NLP professionals, has appeared in media such as BBC TV and BBC Radio 1 as a Coach and areas of expertise include motivation, personal change, confidence, stress management and relationships.
